DAY FIVE: Grey fish-print fringed dress, Paul & Joe Sister
As an ode to my festival fashion story in today’s Daily Express (coughcoughplugplugcough), I thought I would wear my Paul & Joe Sister fishy dress today. I shot this dress for the story and spent the whole weekend justifying to myself that it would be okay to buy it. Finally, I convinced myself that I’d worked really hard and deserved a treat so I came to a compromise. If the dress was £100 or under, I would buy it. Logging on to my-wardrobe on the Monday after I got back to the office, not only was the dress originally £96 but it had also gone into the sale for a bargain £48! And the only size left was mine. It was meant to be.
SOLD!
This really is the ideal festival dress. Not only is it a light cotton fabric that’s printed with hundreds of little fishies, it’s also fringed. A little bit of fringing is good for the soul, particularly at a festival and looks awesome if you’re dancing. The only drawback with this dress is that it’s really quite on the skimpy side so to prevent any pant flashing in the office, I’m wearing some short-ish leggings with it. When I rock it at various festivals this summer, it’ll either be alone or with some lace cycling shorts.
