DAY THIRTEEN
DAY THIRTEEN: Straw Trilby hat, Marks & Spencer
As the mercury hits the 30C mark again, it’s too hot to really contemplate wearing much more than a bikini, some sunscreen and maybe a hat. I love Trilby hats and probably own about six or seven.
This particular one is a men’s one from good old M&S. I bought it a few years ago when I was working as a junior buyer and spent a very sticky summer running around town. The heat was so intense that I thought I might get sunstroke so I bought this hat to protect my head.
For a girl, I have a strangely large cranium so most of my hats come from men’s shops to avoid that perching-on-head look. I like the stripey band on this hat for it’s slightly old man look and the loose weave means that air can circulate freely. Definitely a blessing on a day like today!

- after two weeks, I am coming to the conclusion that my favourite blue Wayfarers have been spirited away by a very fashionable poltergeist so I’m borrowing these tortoiseshell ones from my mum until further notice. Boo.
