DAY NINETEEN: Khaki jacket, Da Nang
I figured that since this jacket has featured in so many other posts (as I wear it pretty much constantly) it was time it got it’s own post. The summer before I started university, I worked as a costume department runner on a film called Sahara. You might remember it - a fun family romp with lots of villains and something about a virus that was killing loads of people - and this jacket was one of the ones worn by Penelope Cruz. After the film wrapped, they kept a lot of the stuff but some of it got sold off, particularly if there were many multiples as was the case with this jacket.
In this kind of in-between weather, it’s the perfect jacket as it’s lightweight enough not to warrant taking off on the tube and with enough room to shove plenty of layers underneath it should the weather suddenly turn. Plus the fact that it nicely spans both the utility and military trends this season means that it has rarely left my back. The big zip up pockets can stash all manner of stuff, very handy if like me you’re heading off to a festival this weekend. Posts may be thin on ground with my iPhone battery lasting all of six hours these days but I’ll hopefully post from there too. If not, you’ll have to be patient and wait for my return to civilisation!
Worn with: Cashmere tee, Asos Black; Skinny jeans, COH; Nude ballet pumps, Topshop; Blue Wayfarers, Ray-Ban; UFO scarf, Unique; Rings, Marc Jacobs; Yellow satchel, Asos.
